South Holland lies in the heart of the fens and is situated within South East Lincolnshire. Incorporating the towns of Spalding, Holbeach, Long Sutton, Sutton Bridge and Crowland, the district covers a geographical area of 74,238 hectares.
The district is centred on the market town of Spalding, which is the focal point of retail and business activities. Spalding is the main employment base for South Holland and is also one of the county’s premier centres for food processing, agriculture and distribution.
Approximately 150,000 people live within 30 minutes' drive of Spalding town centre.
The town has expanded considerably over recent years with the development of new housing estates and Springfields Shopping Outlet and Festival Gardens.
The area in and around Spalding has proved popular with people wishing to relocate. The towns and villages each have a 'real community feel' combined with excellent shops, schools, work opportunities, sports facilities etc all within easy reach. There are still many wide open spaces and great views of the countryside.
