With its fertile soils and normally moderate weather, Spalding is the perfect place for gardeners. As would be expected, there is a tremendous choice of garden centres in the district. Of these, Baytree is the largest, offering a complete selection of plants and garden accessories as well as a wide range of ancillary items. With its popular restaurant and famous Owl Centre, Baytree is a magnet for coach trips from a wide area.
Others to look out for are Birchgrove and Spalding Lifestyle & Gardening Centre, both on the B1356 north out of Spalding, Rose Cottage Water Garden Centre & Tropical Forest at Glenside North in West Pinchbeck.
Also, within the Springfields' development, there are the Festival Gardens and Centre.
All of our nurseries and garden centres offer a large range of garden products for the keen gardener and provide specialist advice and help.
At nearby Crowland the renowned Wyevale Garden Centre offers an excellent restaurant as well as the usual gardening plants and products. It also houses a branch of the award winning Maidenhead Aquatics group. Here they have a superb display of tropical and marine fish.
In addition from April to September the famous, monthly Spalding Gardeners’ Markets in the Market Place provide an opportunity to buy plants, shrubs and trees from local growers.
See: Gardens - Plant Growers and Suppliers for a list of local, district and county wide suppliers.
