Transportation Services

South Holland is linked to the UK’s motorway network by the A1 and A14 via the A1073 (redesignated A16 after £80m investment). Other key roads in the district include the A17, A16 and A52.

The district boasts a strong logistics industry with local companies using South Holland’s key roads in order to provide a ‘just in time’ delivery service, serving both the UK and European markets, via ports such as Hull, Great Yarmouth, Felixstowe, Harwich and Dover.

The Port of Sutton Bridge lies mid-way along the UK’s Eastern seaboard and offers routes to European North Sea Ports.

Rail links connect Spalding to the East Coast Main lines at Peterborough, offering major Inter-city routes and direct trains to London – Kings Cross and many other towns and cities throughout the UK.  The onward train journey from Peterborough to Kings Cross is a short 50 minute trip.

Luton, Stansted, Birmingham, East Midlands and Humberside airports are all within 2 hours drive from Spalding.
